HOW DO YOU CONTACT SOMEONE DIRECTLY??

If their email info is not available, some folks just start a thread for that individual and then ask that individual to email them.

Such as: Sweets7, Question for you!

So there is no way to send a message to someone directly? do they want to keep all correspondence between people that are active on this site open so other people can read it as well?

Some issues, especially relating to health may not want to be discussed in front of an audience.. I get it now. They will receive more hits /views and get more traffic if they eliminate direct messages. from the people who run the site... great idea for generating $. Downside - not patient friendly (we arent talking about cars, news, or playing poker) when wanting to discuss a sensitive topic.

Not unless their little email icon is active. I assume this is so healing well doesn't have to pay for server space for private messaging which can be expensive when you have thousands of users.

You don't have to post any information -- as I said...start a thread with that person's name in it, and ask them to email you privately. No one will know what you are asking -- it's done frequently on here!

 

no... i understand the purpose now. Making it difficult for members of this site to contact one another privately is done deliberately. This could have both positive and negative results for the users of this site, only positive results for the people that collect the profits for running the site.

This site and 1 other site is like this. No way to contact another member. It's just inefficient and it has a lot to do with the issues being discussed. Maybe I don't want the entire board to view my question. Everyone has their thoughts on privacy and some would just prefer to have their issue brought to the attention of a few.. 2 or 3 people that can contribute some valuable information. Maybe I dont want to ANNOUNCE to everyone what's happening. Get what I'm saying?

I probably wont stay on this site for very longer due to the way it's run. I never stay with something that I don't agree with AND not to mention there are other forums that are similar WITH the privacy available as well.

That's just my opinion and view on it.

And maybe some people don't have their email listed because they don't want to be contacted privately. So for them, the private messaging feature would be annoying.

I think it's an interesting treatment. I participated in a study in Hamilton Ontario. It was 1 enema of placebo or real poop per week for 6 weeks. This was the trial. I ended up being on the real thing and it didn't make a difference to me. There was another dude from Orleans there that I've met. He didn't experience any improvements also.

I haven't given up on this type of treatment yet, unfortunately, it seemed it didn't work for me the first time.

As for a pure technical aspect, you're right, a forum should have a PM feature. All the forums I've been to have one.

I guess this one doesn't. I guess I won't have any choice in having Soystud see my weak game when trying to hit on girls here. lol

anyone ever wonder why most people on this forum don't show their e-mail address ?

This forum should have a "send private message to a member" option. That way nobody has to share their email. I never make my email public. Made that mistake once...never again.

My email that is shown below my user name is a generic one. I use that one for everything, things that I don't care if it comes thru...spam or whatnot.

But Sweets, if you want to talk to someone privately. Ask them to meet you in the chat room. This has a private messaging system.
