Idk if its hives or what, for months now, uncontrollable random itching all over my body sometimes leaving me wit scabs and bumps.. Can this be coltish related

I can't answer your question but I like to blame Predisone for everything, you might want to read the paperwork that comes with you Predisone to see if the rash is a listed reaction to the devil drug.

the first couple of months of taking Humira I definitely was itching a lot more than normal, that was to be expected because it is a know side-effect of Humira, it has since gone away as my body has adjusted to it.

Have you changed laundry soap, body soap, deodorant, lotions etc? Do you have dry skin?

UC does not cause itching by itself. There can be so many factors why you have this itch. It can be from medications, supplements, diet, environmental, hygiene products, health related and the list goes on. My first recommendation is go see your primary. If he/she has no answer go see an allergist.

Which dr told you this? Did you see an allergist and have allergy testing?

My primary, and no I did not.. I've been off prednisone for about two months now as well.. No change in any soaps or anything though

Hives are my middle name. They get so much worse when im on any med for my UC. I have no idea exactly what causes them, but i have them every day.

I too have been getting itchy skin for the past 2 months or so. I take imuran daily and am now off of remicade but I still get itchy skin. I feel your pain, you just want it to go away. I also agree with what others have said where it could be ANYTHING and not even UC related at all.

well, unless you've had skin issues in the past, the most likely suspect would be uc and things related - i.e., drugs -

I second allergy testing. You may have allergies that you did not have before. I used to have another autoimmune disease several years ago which did the same thing to me (itching). After beginning allergy shots for allergies I did not know I had, my disease went away and has never come back. The worst thing that could happen is your tests come back negative and you are back to square one.

When you complained to your doc about the itching, did he at least do liver enzyme blood tests? If not...ask for them .

As well...ask for allergy testing, or at the VERY least...a dermatologist examination.

But, in the meantime....what do you use for laundry soap/softener?

What do you use for soap in the shower/bath?

What do you use for moisturising?

Do you use sunscreen?

Are you in the sun a lot?

Do you swim?
