dreaded pred, to say in a nice way!

well just came back from the GI,

i tried putting off pred as long as i could, but seems like its time,.

im so mad and depressed

he said that he was putting me at a low dose, but hes tapering 2.5 every week ! so ill be on this crap for about 10 weeks mad

and he also put me on cortenema, and upped the Imuran

i asked about surgery, and he said that we still had options to try that could put me in remision.

he was really nice considering i balled like a baby in his office !

really didnt want pred

Omg a little relief !! The pharmacy just called and they miss read the prescription. Its only for 5 weeks!!
Well im still not a happy camper but its better than 10 !!

Hopefully it will help you and symptoms won't be too bad. What's the starting dosage?

Its only 25, but i seem to always be so sensitive to the side effects.
Ill try to relax and breath. And look for a surgeon in the mean time. Thanks for your posts Quincy

You're welcome! Maybe with the smaller incriment taper and starting low dosage, you'll skip over the worst symptoms.

I hope it works for you. I was the same about not wanting to take prednisone! As i turns out it made me worse anyway but ked me in a new direction so glad I finally gave in. Side efffects should not be so bad at a low dose. Good luck!
