Airplane story - I know how he feels

I've never been on a plane, but i'd want a bathroom seat, too!!

I remember on the Anderson Cooper show, he had this young guest host and she was telling a story about a man she sat next to on an airplane. she was saying how she thinks he was pooping his pants when they had to be belted in for landing and she kept making all these rude remarks and the audience was howling- same with Anderson. I was so mad watching it and I really wanted to slap them. it's like, that poor man would NOT be pooping if he could hold it and yet you have to make fun of him.

I am glad I see people here are truthful.

You know, there's a guy in a wheelchair that plays poker at the bar I frequent from time to time. This guy smells like a skunk man. It's so powerful, you taste the smell. I don't know if it's the urine bag, or the poop bag, but something smells really bad. You can see it on people's faces when they sit near him. In poker you don't have a choice when you draw the seat.

It is what it is. When we see something that is not the norm we react one way or another.

Have you always noticed how socially acceptable glasses are as opposed to hearing aids. Yet, they both design to help with a deficiency. When you see someone with hearing aids, you might stare at it, wondering about how he/she hears with it, why so big, etc. With glasses, it's like part of the face and you don't give it a second thought.

I'm terrified to get on a plane. I would have to ask for the bathroom seat, hoping they had a seatbelt for it. If not I could bring a rope.

weird. it didn't even occur to me when i was on a plane a couple of months ago to ask for a seat near the bathroom, but then again i wasn't doing too badly at the time. something to keep in mind if i ever get stuck having to take a plane when flaring!

I went to Cuba last year for a vacation.. all was good until the last day of our trip.. the day I had to fly home. Worst flare I can remember since I was first diagnosed.. Running to the bathroom every 10 minutes and laying in the hotel lobby for our 7pm bus ride to the airport. It was hell.. anyways I couldn't drink water cause that would send me running to the bathroom as well. By the time we got on the plane and in our seats (middle of the plane and middle seat) I sat back and prayed that i would be able to last a little longer without getting up. As soon as the seatbelt sign turned off I was up out of my seat, headed to the back of the plane to the bathroom... Not only did I not make it, but as soon as got into the bathroom I passed out (most likely from dehydration) and fell out into the stewardess area. They moved our seats to the back of the plane. Luckily I packed an extra pair of underwear but had to wear my boyfriend's jeans home. That was my 2nd time in cuba and 2nd time I got sick on the last day.Morale of the story.. never going to cuba again as i'm pretty sure it was something I ate (the water maybe?) that sent me into a flare.
I have travelled since and was feeling good and therefore my seat location didn't even cross my mind.

Funny the last time I traveled, I was seated in an aisle. Normally I sit by the window. Because my first flight was delayed, I had to run to the next flight and didn't have time to use the restroom in the airport. As soon as the seatbelt sign turned off, I got up to use the bathroom. When I came back there was a flight attendant in the aisle. She looked at me, and me at her. She told me to squeeze sideways around her. I'm just going to say politely that there was no way that would happen easily because of her weight and the narrowness of the aisle. After that incident, it seemed like there was a beverage or snack cart always in the way. Guess I never noticed all the hub-bub that goes on in the aisles before because I have the window seat. And I'm glad I used the restroom before they started the cart service.

Don't get how one would laugh at another for being different unless the intent was to be funny or laugh in amazement or shock. Not laughing AT as in a mocking or disrespectful way. Wow.

It's highly offensive to have to sit near someone who smells to the point of being sick from it. Bad enough we have to smell ourselves. Mind you, if the guy knows he smells...it could be helpful in having others be off their game.

Wearing glasses and hearing aids...don't get how that would be socially or not socially acceptable or even compared to someone's needs are a bathroom urgently Crapping oneself in public shouldn't be a norm, sorry...and if one goes into a public forum such as being on a plane, I'd think that being prepared (by a bathroom or wearing a diaper, etc) would be only respectful since everyone's stuck there together.

The only part I get on this thread is being on a plane, the possible fear of needing the bathroom, and being ready for it.....

I remember seeing a " funny " clip of a guy pooping in a plant at a mall or something. I felt so bad, and thought I bet he has IBD. Sometimes you literally have 10 seconds.
