suprep vs moviprep

Anyone try both of these? I have my scope in a week. I usually take the osmoprep, but I had major issues with it last time. I have been prescribed the moviprep which is 2L of stuff to drink. The suprep is 32 oz (less than a liter). But if there is a huge difference in taste, that would be my deciding factor. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I did the Moviprep on my last scope and Suprep the one before that. The Moviprep wins hands down taste wise. The Suprep nearly made me throw up because it tastes like fruity cough syrup. The Moviprep will make you feel bloated from the mere volume of it but there is almost no taste.

If you have the option to take 2L prep, I wonder if your gastro approves Miralax. For spring c-scope mine RXed Miralax 8 oz. in 2L liquid, preferably colorless but nothing red/orange/purple. I started drinking the mixture earlier than printed info directed, per forum members' advice, around 3 PM. Then I finished with the throne by 10 PM & got a reasonable night's sleep-- 1st time ever pre-scope! FYI, Osmo-prep has been discredited for causing some kidney damage-cases. / Old Hat (32 yrs with left-sided UC; presently in remission taking brandname Colazal)

If it helps, I refrigerate the suprep then pour in a 8 oz and top off with water and guzzle it quick.

I've done both. Moviprep was just too much liquid for me and it tasted like alka seltzer yuck. The suprep does kinda taste like grape cough syrup but it didn't bother me as much and I liked that is was less to drink and still very effective. I was going clear after the first dose and only drank about half of the second dose.

Thanks guys, this is so confusing. I read some reviews online and moviprep gets 5/10 and suprep gets 7/10. My Gi will still give the osmoprep to me, but I had issues last time and am hoping this will be a little easier on my bum.

I do the gallon preps, so can't help you with either. Let us know what you pick and how you're doing when the dreaded time comes!

Drink whatever with a straw and hold your nose while doing it. If it's chilled...seems it's much better from what I read.

ok, so after one dose of the suprep, I am feeling horrible. I couldn't even get the entire dose down. I started with the D after about 10 minutes. I am already going clear and I still have to choke down the second dose. The taste is horrible and I have tried all of the tricks. My biggest issue is it feels like a bomb went off in my tummy right after I drink it. I can't get down any of the additional liquids either. Ugh. Totally sucks. I need to start my second dose really soon and am toying with mixing it with something. I will let you know.

Yep it did work pretty quickly with me too. I was going clear after the first dose and only did about half of the second dose. Hope your scope goes well. Let us know.

well, never had either of these, just the fleets and the "GoLytely" which I despise. Is there anything less aptly named? Nuthin' "lyte" about it. It should be named "GoExplosively" IMHO
My tactic is to just fast longer. I have had over 12 scopes and refuse to have them anymore.

Went ok. I only got down one full dose if that. It was terrible. Up all night with horrible gas. But the scope went fine.

Nope. They said that they only use that in a hospital with an anestheologist (sp??). They used 2 different things. Demerol and Vered. Slept all day!

You definitely needed to sleep all day after the prep kept you awake due to horrible gas. Versed takes somewhat longer to wear off than the Demerol, though. Let us know how you're doing. sucks you missed the monitor...yeeha!

Good all went well even though the prep didn't.
