Breaking Bad is one of those shows I need to watch. Why? Because I loved Weeds and people say if you liked Weeds, then BB it 10 times better. And oddly enough, I'm not into these shows because it's my personal world - far from it - but Weeds was just this crazy show that came out of nowhere. Sounds like BB is a crazy, wild of a show and I should find time to watch it. One of these days.

During the prime time Fall, Winter and Spring TV viewing schedule, I have TOO MANY shows to watch. It's crazy.....the # of shows we've taken on. :)

I like Breaking Bad better than Weeds but aside from being about drugs the shows are VERY different. Weeds was always kind of funny in spite of being dark... but BB can be bleeeeeak, man.

most of my favorites have been mentioned. Embarrassed to admit it but I've been watching a show on Netflix this week that is so STUPID but it sucks you in and entertains -- Switched at Birth. High culture (like The Wire, Breaking Bad, Dexter, etc) it is NOT... but entertaining it is.

Didn't notice if anyone mentioned it upthread by Six Feet Under is one of my all time favorites. I don't think it's on Netflix though :( If you have HBO Go you can stream it!

Yeah, breaking bad is the best show ive ever seen and i watch so much tv. I read that jesse pinkman was supposed to get killed off in the first season but the director was so impressed with his acting that he kept him on. The writing is just nuts and i couldnt even steam up the crap that happens to walter and jesse/the crap they get themselves into.

Pluot, i love switched at birth, too! Its one of those really easy, non complicated shows that you dont need to even think about when watching. I was gaga over that hot blonde guy from the first season- cant remember his name. He was sent off to some other school.

Yes I am totally hooked. My only complaint is that sometimes I'll look away to do something else and then realize I've missed an entire scene in sign language.

Pluot, haha my mom is always looking at her computer when we watch the show and then asks me twenty times what they said. Im like mother, they are deaf. Watch the subtitles!

Did you see the episode they did entirely in sign language? It was the most quiet hour of tv ive ever seen.

I watched Weeds too, forgot about that one.

I think I am going to try Breaking Bad based on the recommendations here.

I watched several episodes of Breaking Bad, thought it as great, but so depressing! I mean Walter is brilliant, but afterall he's not in good health!

I just watch a lifetime movie about every night...record & flip through the commercials. Can't get that kind of drama anywhere else.

Tonight I'm watching the new Hunger Games/Catching Fire trailer, released today at comic con. I've only watched it 8 times so far......(yes I'm quite addicted to the hunger games).

Everyone's on top of their game with the best shows of all time.
Hbogo, netflix sho anytime and Amazon instant video get me going during my spare time.

Btw, did anyone else go crazy on the episode when Rob Stark died? I didn't expect that all.

I just have a massive feeling that Breaking Bad would be one of those utterly raved about and lauded American shows, like The Wire or Mad Men, which would leave me stone cold. I have to be interested in the basic premise; I don't care how well acted or scripted it is, if the premise is boring, I'm bored. Would rather waste my time on the internet, a videogame or - heaven forbid - a book instead of watching a million episodes of most TV series to be honest.

Anyway, what I'm currently watching:

- The Returned, an awesome blend of creepiness and horror in a French alpine town.
- The 3rd series of The Walking Dead. Yeah, I know I'm late to it.

What I have watched:

- The first two series of Lost before getting bored
- The first two series of Battlestar Galactica before getting bored
- The latest series of Dr Who before getting bored (are you seeing a trend yet?)

Dr Who is at least designed to be ongoing and I did enjoy the reboot for a few series, but now Dr Who has just lost its way as far I'm concerned.

They're not on terrestial TV any more, but the old Star Treks were great. Pure cheese, but loved it.

Can't think of much else that I watch, really. Oh, I nearly forgot; Parks and Recs. Cutely funny in a non-nauseating way. Caught that sheerly by accident and ended up thinking it was great.

Two series of Lost? You need to hang in there for the Lost Season 3 Season Finale, it's a two parter, Though the Looking Glass, 1 and 2. Hands down, my most favorite episodes of all time, Lost related.

Sibby - I found a fellow hg fan!!! Yes anyone who knows me well right now, knows how addicted to the hg franchise I am and I'm not the typical fan age bracket, lol - 58. My brother is 68 and our mother 88, we're all into the hg. My daughters as well, they are 23 and 26. This time I plan on seeing the movie at midnight, there is no way I'll be able to wait 36 hours to see it on the Sat. after it premieres (as I did the first time). I will be attendance that night. And buy my tix ahead of time (did that last time the clerk hadn't even heard of the hg until I asked to buy tix, this time I think most theater clerks will know about the hg movies).

I usually know what's going on with the cast too - someone will say - did you see Jen photographed in this or that city, or an interview on a talk show. Before the person can finish their sentence, they smile and say - well of course you're aware of this! (most of the time I am).

I've been anticipating this new trailer - for weeks!

To be fair, terrestial TV lost the rights to show Lost, otherwise I would probably have carried on watching it. We're all too cheapskate to pay for Sky TV in our household, hence we just make do with whatever crap makes it onto Freeview.

Bit puzzled by your post now, though. I thought Lost went to five series? If it had ended with the third series, I'd have probably made the effort to buy it on video, but I can't be arsed watching 3 more series, barely remembering what happened in the first two. (Ditto BSG.)

Lost lasted for 6 seasons/series.

When I said hang in there for the Season 3 Season Finale, I meant why stop after only watching 2 seasons? The third season was very good and the finale that year was superb. Something happens in the final 2 minutes that was a major secret, only a handful of crew and cast members knew about until it until it hit the air.

But honestly if a person isn't that into Lost after watching 2 seasons, I'd suggest moving on to another show. It's fine if it's not for everyone (my husband never got into it!).

Maaaan, I watched the whole LOST. It's a crappy show lol, but I'm glad I watched it, so I can now proclaim it as crap. lol

It has it's moments, the actors are cool, but man it's ...I dunno, it's not good ...can't put it into any other words. I love sci fi, drama, supernatural etc..but I dunno.

I'm currently watching Arrested Development on Netflix. I did not watch it when it originally aired on TV. The humor is a little offbeat so it does not appeal to everyone but I have not laughed as much during a TV show in a long time.

I just tried a few episodes of Dr Who on Netflix and could not get into it. I love sci-fi but it did not hook me.

Somedude..forgot to add Crossing Lines and the odd Nature, Doc Zone, etc.

TV watching is in the evening/late (husband works some nights and being a night owl doesn't help). I don't watch everything all at once..and, I pvr everything, so that means....no commercials..fast. And I schedule working is flexible depending on clients.

Somedude, agree about Lost but did we think it was a crappy show as it was airing each season? The only reason I'd say it was somewhat crappy, is because they gave us only one answer (in the end).

I think what I miss most about Lost is the experience Lost was - watching it each week was being part of a larger community, I remember I could not get to Lost forums fast enough, the ep ended and one minute later, I was online. I also watch it live, but recorded it too. I hardly ever watch a show live.

Switching topics, many old shows have come up and there's one that my daughters (in their 20s now) and I got into - Freaks & Geeks. It was a one season show, from 1999, that was a Judd Apatow creation. Many of his stars today (Martin Starr, James Franco, Seth Rogen) starred in Freaks & Geeks. It's a shame it only lasted one season and I think critics probably regretted being so harsh with it, if they had been more supportive it might have lasted several seasons. Look it up, you won't regret it.
