Where did my GI doc go?

Received a call today from my GI's office. My GI doc left the practice. I asked where he went to, of course they wouldn't tell me. I was just there 2 weeks ago. Now I have to see someone else in the practice. When I was there 2 weeks ago I asked for a few refills on certain meds. They never called in the scripts . Now they said today that the new doctor would fill 3 out of 4 scripts. I need to come in to talk about the klonopin he is not filling. Is there any way of finding out where a doctor has gone when he leaves one practice to another. Hate switching!!! Any ideas??? I really like this one ,he's so easy to talk to.

I googled him. He's still listed with that practice. He's been giving me the klonopin for the last year.

Good idea! Going to call one of the pharmacys I use. This really stinks. Taking some heavy duty meds. Hate switching doctors. Gone through 4 GI's since moving to FL. They move around all the time here.

Another thought, call your local Medical association. Also, some states make license-sure information available on line and may give you some information in looking for your old GI, I know you can do this in Illinois. Much Luck!

Not desperate yet. In order to get scripts filled I will have to see one of the other docs there. I was just there 2 weeks ago. What's the need to go back! They know what I need. I hope he's still in the area!!!
Going to call my insurance co on Monday! Maybe they know where he is.

They seem to jump from one practice to another in this part of Florida. I have no idea what that is about. Seen it happen quite often. This would not have bothered me, I really liked this Doc. Seemed to really care and listened to me when I would get a little crazy with all my UC stuff. I'm in remission now and would like to keep it that way:) No need for more stress!!!!

Ii would suggest for you to get copies of your entire medical record at the clinic in case you find your good doc or go elsewhere. Medical records have a way of disappearing.. Good luck!
