That's great! How long have you been on flagyl. I just took my second one. Do you have an infection?

I started it on Tuesday. But it's the combo everything that's working for me because I've done flagyl by itself and no luck, I think the anti acid is helping me too keeping this calm

It's omeprazole 20mg heard of it.

I didn't get flagyl with prednisone. I did take a course while I was on pred when we suspected bacteria but it wasn't because I was on pred, it was because I wasn't able to taper off.

Linda...Omeprazole isn't an antacid, it's a Proton Pump Inhibitor (PPI), that greatly reduces the acid in the stomach for long periods of time. You're on prednisone, which can increase the acid production...so it's good you're on it at this point.

I use Zantac, and did use Pariet for a while, but Zantac is cheaper, available and works for me at this point. If I were on prednisone, a stronger acid reducer would be necessary methinks.

What wonderful news!! I have been taking prevacid for my LPR but it doesn't seem to be helping. I am going to ask for Pariet if I ever go to the doctor.

Last time I went into remission, it happened mysteriously after a sigmoidoscopy. Strangely, at that very scope, my GI said things looked like they were getting revved up to flare, then the next day, I felt a little better and days to follow got better until I was 100%. This was all after a LONG course of pred that I struggled to get off of for months and had symptoms the whole time tapering down. Odd that I got better all of the sudden when I was struggling to taper 1mg at the time prior to that scope. I figure it was 6mp finally working.
