How to tell whether fecal transplants are good for me?

Some people that have posted positive testimonies for fecal transplants mention that their ulcerative colitis was caused by antibiotics or that they generally find relief with antibiotics. I don't belong to either case.

Bust going back in time, I remember that the first 3-4 days when my symptoms started to appear (I had zero issues with my gut before), I developed bloating and gas with horrid smell (the most horrid in my life). Then bloating and gas went away and I was left with watery diarrhea, blood and mucus. So I was thinking whether my first symptoms were some kind of bacterial die-off (which release toxins when they die).

Are there any indications that predispose why fecal transplant have positive effects on some people and not in others?

I have been trying to figure this out for awhile now,just not enough info.

Did the horrible smell happen to smell like sulfur gases, so then SRB's went nuts.

could be that the donor is also dysbiotic,or perhaps work needs to be done to pick a donor match to your

gut bacteria,donor has some hidden infection,just don't know yet. Perhaps the docs will figure it out.

There isn't enough information right now on who might benefit from FT's, other than C-Diff patients. The only way to know is to try it and make sure that you get the donor's stool tested before you begin the FT.
