I am on the colocort enema nightly but I am having difficulty getting the medication to go in. I know it says to try to void before the enema but I can't seem to do that. I think I have the tip inserted correctly but when I squeeze the bottle it seems like it seeps out some and not much goes in. Any suggestions?

someone mentioned that you might have to remove a seal of some sort by unscrewing the applicator tip from the bottle ????

maybe you could have your assistant administer the enema while you watch a ball game or something -

You mean like "administrative assistant"??? I didn't know people did these while sitting at their desks at work.

I usually have it done by my admin assistant after work. She drops by my house close to midnight. She performs her duties and wishes me a happy ending. Her name is Cherry.

I'm not about to do it myself.

If it's coming or seeping out, you're either not relaxed enough while inserting and administering the med...or...you don't have the nozzle all the way in.

Don't worry about emptying before bedtime...it's not my time to go, and the last thing I'd ever do is try to force myself to go if I don't have to.

Thanks for the ideas. Last night went better. I really tried to relax and tried a couple different positions. I hope I now have the hang of it :) I really don't want an assistant lol

They say on your left side and then stay there for 1/2 hour to let it go in I had trouble accepting what I was doing mentally and I used Vaseline or lube to make it easier to insert. I found taking a book to bed to read to take my mind off what I was doing helped. Sad but I love vampire, Leopard people, werewolf type books have read a lot since as one I started to get my regular bowel movements back. I had trouble with the occasional pushing to hard. So if I read on the toilet I am not thinking about what I am doing everything goes a lot more smoothly. OMG lol just read back what I wrote, would never have had a conversation like this before UC wow have I grown Good Luck I hope you find what works for you

I have similar problems every now and then. Try other positions and definitely use lube (helps you relax knowing it goes in easily). I usually have my computer or phone with me while I'm lying down to distract me.
