Welp, this time i've really done it. My parents came for a visit, and we went out to some great restaurants in the downtown area and off the coast. They were amazing, and while half-assing my previous knowledge of what menu items may contain wheat/gluten, I tested my limits by ordering and continuing to eat fries that were flour battered, or grit-cakes that had bits of flour to add a crisp texture, and grain alcohols.
After their leave, I began experiencing some pretty disgusting bowel movements. My stomach has been in knots, and there is just shards of blood in the bits of stool i have. Thank God the pain is manageable though.
I'm just shocked though, that my body can prove itself healed after a few months and then revert back to hell. It's disgusting and i'm so foolish for ever thinking that I can just try a bit of wheat/gluten when I'm feeling good. NEVER again.
I'll be doing some more testing this fall to rule out anymore intolerances, it still baffles me that the only testing that came back positive for gluten intolerance was a saliva test, but not my Metametrix stool test. Humm..
A month before this, I assumed the corn tortillas/chips from a few of my preferred lunch places (ie: Moes) was GF, they are not, and back then I was only experiencing a bit of symptoms.
Has anyone else shared a similar experience with gluten?
