i thought i had it under control, i thought i am doing well - i was wrong. i do juicing, i am on SCD, l-glutamine, slippery elm, probiotics, solofalk and didn't have any major bleeding or loose BMs, a little urgency and 3-4 BMs a day that's it until tonight i went to the toilet and had a lot of blood actually tonight was a record for me and pain like period pain (Ladies you know what i mean) i haven't experienced this pain before is it normal? or do i have something else wrong with me? i've noticed pain in the upper abdomen 4 days ago, it was pretty bad, felt like i had a brick stuck in my stomach, then the pain gradually went away but light bleeding started and tonight i had this crazy amount of blood - i am scared, how do i stop the bleeding or the pain? i didn't eat anything different, didn't take any new meds or supplements and have no clue what to do.
also does anyone know about
INTESTINEW?

I would say don't panic and try staying the course. I'm personally not a big believer in juicing as people are usually juicing things that would bother them if they were not juiced and the juicing causes you to eat higher volumes of those things than if you had not juiced them. Did you juice anything different lately?

Mesalamine enema usually stops bleeding for me but then I examine what I ate different to discover the real source.
That's it for me every single time but of course the source can change. Some days the colon can handle "off-list" foods and other times it can't or I've simply gotten cocky and eaten too much of that food.
Fiber, too much of it or the wrong kind, is my biggest problem. But there are others too.
What do you think about
it being a hemorrhoid?

Bummer! Sorry to hear this. I always wondered about
juicing problem foods, good luck.

keep doing what your doing, it might just be a one of those movements... of course, if that one movement starts looking like all of them, you need to change your medications or diet. good luck.

may be too many pine nuts did this? it's not hemorrhoid as the blood pretty dark, also i feel heavy in the stomach and nauseous. it is a bummer, DMC, i've been juicing for a month now without a problem.
imagardener isn't mesalamine the same as solofalk? sorry i'm not too familiar with the drugs. is the pain and nausea usual for colitis? i haven't experienced that before.
thank you for the responses, not knowing what's going on is the worst.

I def would omit nuts. Even on some diets where they are good for others they are rarely good for us. I am trying Fodmaps and don't eat a few things because I have uc even though it is fodmaps legal. Nuts and seeds, no no.

I tried Intestinew at one point but had a rough time with it. I'm not so sure it's a good idea to try it if you're starting to flare as you never know which way it will go by adding something new.
I'd say if you do try it just be cautious and start at a low dose - or revert back to something that works and try it once you have things under control again.

Gah! I'm sorry to hear that. I cannot stand being on a health, colitis-free streak until the day you see blood in the toilet.
Have you had acid reflux?

Katarzyna i don't think it's acid reflux, it heavy, dull pain the the upper abdomen and bile /blood taste all the time, 2 months ago i did endoscopy and they didn't find any ulcers in the stomach, i don't even know if this is related to colitis, i am so over it!

I think just about
every UC'r should stay away from every single kind of nut there is, totally. That's hard for me as I love nuts of all kinds and really miss them. Every time I have a weak moment I pay the price.

OK, at least that's ruled out, delta30. I had an instance were I was nauseated all the time and would vomit, no blood though, and it turned out I had an ulcer not in the stomach but in the part right before the intestine starts.
Do you know if the deli slices the meat themselves or is it prepackaged? Because if it's processed, there is a high chance that that is what causing your problem. Pink slim, and all this fake meat causes a lot of problems with UC'ers.

i am sure it'sprocessed stupid stupid me, i've been off this stuff for so long now paying the price. how did you treat your ulcer and did they diagnose it?

Don't stress yourself out over so much. Stress will just cause the problem to worsen. Instead, just take a tylenol to help with pain or whatever pain killer you're allowed to take and remember next time, do not eat turkey.. or any lunch meat for that matter. (Those are really processed)
I believe the part that had the ulcer was the duodenum. The doc's gave me Flagyl and pain killers (not entirely sure about
the medication). I honestly think they just guessed it because they couldn't figure out what it was either. I had sharp pain in my stomach area and I wasn't able to eat or drink. But if I did, minutes later I would get the pain and either vomit or have a BM of blood.

Salofalk enemas or oral? You should also be on an oral mesalamine.

Enemas are much more effective than suppositories, they reach more area.
Can you get a month's worth of enemas?
For me the enemas
heal
whereas the suppositories are just a help.

Like DMC mentioned, Flagyl just leaves a funky taste in my mouth for a couple of minutes. I feel that pred does more damage to me so I don't mind it too much.
I wish I could have tried enemas but my doctor doesn't want me to.

what about
rifampicin? did anyone try this? i have to take them together for 2 months, i had anitibiotics only twice in 35 years and every time they left me with candida and generally feeling unwell.
i am glad that today after a fun night on the toilet i don't feel as bad as yesterday but the uneasy feeling in the upper abdomen and nausea still here, so i think i'll give my system some rest and put myself on fluid diet for couple of days
