cold making colitis symptoms worse?

slight fever, headache, general laziness / tired feeling, sneezing, dry itchy throat - all symptoms I've been feeling since the morning. I've been taking care of my mom who got sick on the weekend and I wasn't perfect on the weekend either. Starting last Friday, I noticed all my coughs and sneezes would trigger bowel movements or at least make my belly feel uncomfortable. It's been a literal pain in the ass to retain rectal medicine. I've been flaring since about February... yeah, I can't believe it too. I'm going to call my GI office sometime and let them know I'll try remicade. Right now, I'm trying all this alternative BS, I figure I can always fall back on remicade since it's the last thing to try.

Got a bit off topic... Does anyone feel like their colitis symptoms get worse with a cold or the flu? The prominent difference between my 'normal' colitis symptoms and how I feel now are worsened diarrhea. It really sucks cause I also have no appetite from a combination of feeling sick and the nasty itchy feeling at the back of my throat.

What's your go to medication for colds? I've taken just one tylenol for the headache that came along with feeling this way but I'm not sure what else to take. Maybe a tylenol cold?

I have a cold (started the same way as yours) last week and I have had a lot of mucus since it started and my colon has been pretty noisy as well although that is getting better. I haven't had an increase in my BM's (1-2 a day).

I have had a mild cold since Monday and it seems to be getting better as of today. I am not feeling as tired as I was on Monday and Tuesday. All this time I am as close to remission as possible. I don't dare call it that until it last for a few more weeks. I have always found that my other colds and such do not effect or change my Crohns/colitis symptoms.
