I was admitted into the hospital last night since the nausea and fever were not getting any better. I just heard that my nurse practitioner who has basically been my "GI" for years passed away this morning. Praying for her staff, family, friends, and other patients

So sorry to hear about your friend. I hope her family is comforted by the love her patients have for her, and I hope you feel better soon.

Some of these medical professionals become like family, so when one passes away it's rather sad. I found out in the beginning of the year that my sons orthopedic surgeon passed away - a tragic automobile accident. My condolences.

Thanks all...I know she had been very anemic from our last conversation a few days ago....I'm home from the hospital as of just a little while ago, and I'm going to work with the medical doctor who saw me in the hospital, and he set me up with a newer gastro (for our area at least) to go see on Monday. I'm seeing improvement and feel much better...I'm not sure what I think of the medical doctor because he doesn't seem to think outside the box (didn't recommend probiotics), but I can always continue to see my natural doctor and use my best judgement. There were some things I liked about him and he is new to the area also so I think I will give him a chance.

I'm sorry to hear that, I can't imagine if my GI passed away. Only doctor I ever had that I liked. I hope you're new GI will be good too, but I'm sure it would be hard to switch.

Thank you it has been quite traumatic, and very unexpected and sudden.

I'm very anxious right now since I haven't taken many medications in awhile...the internal medicine dr. sent me home with flagyl, cipro, and a methoprednisolone pack. I have been taking these in the hospital the last two days, but I have a bad habit of searching for side effects and interactions.
