hey guys, just started taking colazal and I have to say the neverending constant pain has decreased a lot.. I no longer have to go 4 times in the morning
I was worried about the side effects however
according to dailymed's post marketing experience: there's myocarditis, pericarditis, vasculitis, pruritus, pleural effusion, pneumonia (with and without eosinophilia), alveolitis, renal failure, interstitial nephritis, pancreatitis, and alopecia.
in comparison to Lialda:
Body as a Whole: lupus-like syndrome, drug fever
Cardiac Disorders: pericarditis, pericardial effusion, myocarditis
Gastrointestinal: pancreatitis, cholecystitis, gastritis, gastroenteritis, gastrointestinal bleeding, perforated peptic ulcer
Hepatic: jaundice, cholestatic jaundice, hepatitis, liver necrosis, liver failure, Kawasaki-like syndrome including changes in liver enzymes
Hematologic: agranulocytosis, aplastic anemia
Immune System Disorders: anaphylactic reaction, Stevens-Johnson syndrome (SJS), drug reaction with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms (DRESS)
Musculoskeletal and Connective Tissue Disorders: myalgia
Neurological/Psychiatric: peripheral neuropathy, Guillain-Barre syndrome, transverse myelitis
Renal Disorders: interstitial nephritis
Respiratory, Thoracic and Mediastinal Disorders: hypersensitivity pneumonitis (including interstitial pneumonitis, allergic alveolitis, eosinophilic pneumonitis)
Skin: psoriasis, pyoderma gangrenosum, erythema nodosum
Urogenital: reversible oligospermia
well I just learned something from looking up the post marketing experiences of Lialda in comparison to colazal, its safer
There's nothing about Apriso, which I used to take for almost 2 years everyday and it never seemed to help when I flared.
anyone else taking colazal? I know you are Old Mike, that's how I found out about it
thanks
