PMS...

So. Like I imagine everyone else does....have a lot of time to think lately. And I think being a woman set me up lol. Before my last cycle...I was going since a day...lots of pain but just once a day...and tmi it was like my butt would not quit lol till everything in me was gone! I'd go from normal to diarrhea to mucus in one loooooong go. A few minutes after, cramps gone, on with my day.

When PMS set in....pain set in. And I always gotta go with PMS anyway. But with all the pain went to ER. Then came the antibiotics and lialda and been screwy since. I wonder what would have happened if I never got PMS lol. And I kinda preffered the former problem....now its like my body takes 20 years in 7-9 trips a day to pass a little bit. Not even constipated....totally mushy. I'm just like hey, I prefer the get it over with approach!

Pondering a little more fiber....but don't want the worst of both scenarios lol....

Anyone else have problems correlate with this disease and PMS?

Hmm well let's see, I've had Uc for almost 22 years. 17 of those years I was almost continuously flaring. I mean I have a "difficult" system anyway but my flares correlated exactly to my PMS. It got to the point that my GI told me to use enemas a week before I was due until a week after because I would flare so badly because of my hormones.

In 2007, I had an endometrial ablation because my periods were so wacky that hardly produced any blood...just severe excruciating pain. Think 9 on the pain scale. Since than my flares were minor and I have no more worries about that horrendous pain associated with my periods (because I have no more periods).

Many women here have issues with their periods and flaring. Hormones seem to make things worse.

My pms always sets off diarrhea....for years, every month. That's when I was just dealing with IBS, oddly enough, I just recently experienced my first period while on the asacol/salofalk meds for the inflammation and there was no increase in symptoms this month. How odd is that, right?
