Rheumatoid arthritis + UC

Ok, how many people have both? I've had a few arthritis issues and since RA runs in the family I'm starting to wonder what the chances are...

I don't know that much...but there's different types of arthritis. If it's autoimmune driven it's RA. There's also osteoarthritis and psoriatic arthritis. My Dad has a sky high RA factor, but it attacked his lungs before his joints. I could barely walk over Thanksgiving, which is gone now. My neighbor is trying to convince me it's RA, but isn't arthritis a complication of UC? I'm boycotting UC and doctors right now. Taking a break.

It seems at this point I don't have RA...

I had horrible IBD related arthritis. It was crippling. My grandmother had virulent RA (as in strong).

I was evaluated by a rheumy. He made the dx based on my blood work (RA factor amount other things) and the characteristics of my arthritis.

So you can "just" have bad arthritis with your UC.
