Remicade and ringworm question

For some reason I've been having an issue with ringworm...the first time lately was in September when I first noticed the rectovaginal fistula issue, I cleared it up using oil of oregano and it worked well. Now I think I have it again, a small patch on my lower back. The time in Sept was on my chest shortly after my cat was laying on me, purring and drooling (she's weird I know) so I figured it was through her saliva that I got it on my chest, but this lower back one has me stumped.

If I end up going on remicade, wouldn't having issues with ringworm beforehand pose a problem to even start remicade?

Not sure on ringworm, I would ask your GI. I know they are pretty lenient on a lot of things, for example, you can still get your remicade infusion even if you have a cold or flu.

Oh, I thought they were very particular about things when it came to Remicade, especially with any kinds of infections, so I figured ringworm might be an issue...I'll be sure to mention it to my GI when I see him in January for my dreaded colonoscopy...thanks iPoop!

pb4...do you have it ringworm or could it be something else...I'd suggest you have it tested to be sure... scraped/cultured.

ok- I went through this on Imuran, had to take the new rescue kitty- who looked perfectly fine, BTW and have the vet shine UV light all over her while we looked for fluorescing ringworm (only glows on pet fur not human) She had a teeny tiny little spot on her- but that was enough to infect me. We both had to do oral and topical for 10 days- and that is antifungal which is hard on your liver (and the cat's)
If you have a UV light I would check out your cat.

Q, I've had it before so I recognize it very well lol

Thanks MossPiglet, I recall the doctor explaining the issues regarding the liver with taking antifungal RX.
