I ate pretty much whatever I wanted to as long as it wasn't a major trigger, but only had small amounts of foods that I know are minor triggers.
I did alright as far as feeling okay goes, but I still had urgency. I went to my boyfriend's family's house for Christmas and, luckily, my room was right across the hall from the bathroom. However, when I woke up Christmas morning needing to go, someone was in the shower. I went to the next closest bathroom as quickly as I could, but unfortunately had an accident just steps away from the bathroom door. The only good thing is that I was close enough to the bathroom that I was able to get inside and clean up without anyone knowing. Still disheartening, but I guess it could always be worse.
Glad to hear so many of us had such successful Christmases!
Stealthguardian, European chocolate is a health food?? I like the sound of that!
Quality grade chocolate is a prebiotic, vasodilator, nootropic, endorphin booster among many other things. Cocoa butter has anti-viral and anti-bacterial properties that make it ideal for fighting bad bugs. You'll find a variety of studies that support chocolate as a health food - both for prevention of heart disease and other health conditions. The irony is that American brands like herseys are exactly the opposite. The additives, added sugars and preservatives make them disease promoting foods.
The key is that it
has to be dark (70%+) and the non-refined kind (generally non-milk) - callebaut, varlhona, lindt are some great brands. Trader joes has a nice selection of belgian chocolates.
