Hi everyone - the main reason I started this entire topic was to mention or encourage people afflicted with very dry and cracked/bleeding skin on hands in the winter, a new product I was not even aware existed: Working Hands.
I do politely take into account suggestions and ideas for these painful deep cuts on my hands but since I've had this problem long, long, long before I had GI issues - age 20 and I'm 58 now, at 20 I didn't have anything abnormal about my gut, now I do due to a resection for cancer in 1999 - I have tried just about everything under the sun to heal the cuts. Bandaids, polysporin or Aquaphor, sleeping with cotton gloves or sox on my hands, putting very thick layers of vaseline or Aquaphor on my hands and then hanging them off the side of the bed while I sleep, etc.
So in case anyone missed my original message - try Working Hands. Friends of mine have stated they found it at Bed, Bath & Beyond. I found mine at Auto Zone.
Thanks again for the numerous replies on this thread. It's nice to know I'm not alone in this chronic problem, which in my case cannot be attributed to GI issues since I've had it for decades.
