i picked up some epsom salts at the store today so i could take a relaxing bath. i heard it's a good way to get magnesium and since magnesium citrate gives me satan's gas, i figured i'd try this. i read online that you have to get the water as hot as you can tolerate since you will sweat and detoxify more that way. also heard that putting a tsp of cayenne pepper helps the process.
so i lit my favorite birthday cake candle (smells like icing), got the water going, and poured in my ingredients. stepped in and it was hot but i figured i could take it. i started my stopwatch and planned for 40 minutes. 20 minutes to get the impurities out and 20 minutes to absorb the magnesium (at least that's what google said). so after a few minutes, i realized it was really hot in there. i hadn't put my head under the water, but my face and head were dripping in sweat. i actually think i laughed a little. i kept looking over at my phone wondering why only 4 minutes had passed.
the bathroom window was closed because i wanted the room to smell like icing. well, it smelled like burning flesh and sweat. my sister walked in and said "holy crap. i need to open a window. i have to get ready and i'm going to faint in here." i was like "nooo!! i'm detoxing. that will let the heat out." so she says "you're insane" and leaves and gets ready in her room. really though, this might have all been a hallucination. i'll have to ask her later if she really came in there.
i ended up going for 25 minutes and kept rotating positions so i wouldn't faint from heatstroke. i'm not sure how this is even relaxing. there were no bubbles. my body/face was so red when i got out of the tub but my skin feels AMAZING.
so there's no point to this story. i just need to invent magnesium bubble baths.
have any of you guys taken a magnesium bath?? did you survive?
