I was just wondering if you could continually take Canasa several times per day. I have noticed that mine is pretty much been used up somewhere between 2-3 hours. I have heard of taking it twice a day but I wonder what would happen if you took it like 4-6 times per day. I believe my current condition to be "IBS with occasional bouts of Proctitis".

I've never used it more than 2x (unless I couldn't retain it, then i may use another one after going to the bathroom) but i don't see why you couldn't use it more often becuase it's only 1000mg. Rowasa is 4000mg. I think cost is probably the main reason to use it less often.

Meaning he has IBS and then gets symptoms of proctitis. I feel that I have the same even though my proctitis hasn't bothered me in a few years now...knock on wood.
I think someone was taking it 3 times a day. You would be going through an awful lot of them doing that though. I don't think insurance would cover than many.

I think I recall some study where they found that using Canasa twice per day did not cause a statistical improvement vs using it only once per day. Google Scholar might be able to locate that study, if you want to read it.
With my current insurance, Canasa costs me more than $5.50 per suppository. At that price, I want to know there is going to be a measurable benefit if I am using more than 1 per day!
