I just had my surgery today to have my loop jejunostomy put back in. My surgeon was very happy! She bought it would take 3.5-5 hours because of how messed up a case I am. It took a little over an hour! There was also double the chance she would need to open me but ut was all laparoscopic. I've done a couple of floor laps and pain us pretty good!

The only negative is I have monster sutures. I'll just add the scars to my collection ;)

i bet u could use a nice orange... or ice cream sundae! haha i'm just eating oranges like mad right now and fortunately having no consequences.

any cute doctors??? that's usually the ONLY enjoyable part of being in the hospital.

Wow - I just read your ummm wordpress... Amazing all that you have been through.

Awesome on the surgery success :) To cool. Keep up with the walking... Or keep us updated with lap counts or something lol.

I am happy things went quickly and that you're already feeling well enough to post. So you're down to one stoma? Very happy for you!!

I did four laps yesterday and two just now (1230 at night), I'm up. Ecuador I've been having trouble pending so I'm trying to avoid a straight catheterization. I don't understand...I had a catheter in for five weeks this summer and could pee fine afterward. But give me one for two hours and I'm toast!

I guess that I am a messed up case, took them about 4 hours for me and they had to cut me open after they first tried to operate laproscopically, my colon was in really bad shape.

Its really nice when in a couple days they start you on solid food again. But I got the worst heartburn the first time I ate and then they gave me antacid afterwards. They said that is common the first couple of times you eat after the surgery....I was like why didn't you give me something before I ate so this didn't happen.

Sounds like the surgery went really well and you'll be out of there on Monday or Tuesday.

Well, my colon took five hours. They thought putting this ostomy back in would be 4 when the average is 1.5. I have very little fascia, things are no longer in the right place, and I have lots of scar tissue.

I finally really peed a few minutes ago. Had to get cathed twice. I've also vomited three times today, which I'm not happy about. I don't want an NG tube! Otherwise I feel fine. My pain is under controll.

Thanks all! Still doing ok. I had been throwing up (I think it was from anesthesia and sinus drainage). One of my biggest worries going into this was that I would need an NG tube. Apparently I pulled out 5 of those this summer when I had an "altered mental status." I can still feel one of those going in, ick.

I'm still on an all clear liquid diet (sips). I don't get meals per se but I can request things. I'm STARVING, which is a good sign that things are working. I also had a stoma leak, once again indicating that things are working. I could really go for a soup with some substance though! Hopefully tomorrow.

Oh, and walking is going well. 3x5 laps around the C-R ward (and in Cleveland, that's a big floor).
