which, among other things, discusses the different populations of bacteria in feces vs. in mucus

So, when you sent your sample off to be analyzed, did you sample feces, mucus or both? Just wonder how much this would influence the results.

I really haven't had mucus in a long time. I'm sure a very huge part of my sample was stool. Sometimes I wonder though what the results would be like if you sampled the actual intestinal wall vs just what comes out.

I just followed the instructions and I believe that it was just stool.

mine seemed to be a mix of mucus and stool
