I'm not on steroids. I'm not feeling sick. I just had a blood draw, and nobody has called about
low platelets, but I have had that in the past.
I have little red dots all over my lower legs and feet. They are not raised or itchy. I'm pretty sure they are petechiae.
Is this another thing we get, or is it one of my meds, or something else?

I'm betting you made a correct diagnosis. You really need to find out NOW. A platelet count too low can be deadly, or worse. It can be due to meds. It's hard to tell without knowing your full history but you seem to indicate that this has happened to you before.

Half of my lab results are online now. The CBC isn't posted yet. I think the low platelets were when I first started Imuran, but I can't find it in my test results now. That means it was from my old GI, who is the one who started me on Imuran.

No change with these dots. The CBC results are still not online. I know my doctor will call if she gets a weird result.
Oh oh! Maybe this is a surgery delaying complication :-D
Stayed up to watch American Horror Story last night - paying for it today. And how are you?

Been on grape seed extract for several days now. I think it's doing something but don't tell anyone because I don't want to jinx it.

Petechiae in the world of pathogens means Babesia Duncani. If you seem to react well to flagyl it would be worth looking into.

When my son was 16 or so, 6 or 7 years before he got UC, he had petechiae due to HSP
Henoch-Schonlein purpura . His brother had strep, this was an immune reaction to strep, while my son with the HSP did not have strep. That is when I knew his immune system was not right.

Since my first autoimmune disease was ITP (immune system attacking platelets) I have some knowledge of petechiae. In the case of an extremely low platelet count petechiae can just merely be caused from spontaneous bleeding due to a that low platelet count and nothing else.

I've had Petechiae for many years. My blood work is always fine. I'm not sure why I get it to be honest but I have little red dots sporadically all over.
