My main worries, which I have gone over before, are:
1. Not being able to hold in a bm for a long time.
2. Having issues with water absorption.
3. Any other possible things that the colon helps with not being able to be done once it's gone.
1. How many people with UC (non-constipated UC issues, some suffer from constipation) can hold a bm a long time? Probably not very many, especially people with severe UC.
2. I'm a novice of only a few months but I'd expect that is when most people would suffer water absorption issues.... this has never happened to me, yes I am more thirsty that I used to be but nothing serious or inconvenient.
3. Yes it is good to have a healthy colon but all of us with UC do not have healthy colons, it took me a long time to come to terms with this. I am healthier without a colon then with a diseased colon and medications.
