C Diff testing supplies???

The last time I tested for c diff they gave me a lovely toilet hat, a tiny pooper scooper spoon, the sample cup, the ziploc, and instructions.

Today I went to the lab to pick up the stuff for a c diff test and they handed me a urine sample cup and a lab ziploc bag. Does that sound right to you?

I'm wondering how I'm going to collect the sample without making a mess. Maybe every lab is different?

I just got the bag with some gloves and specimen cups. My son got the hat and stuff you mentioned. I pooped into a styrofoam bowl if I remember correctly. Gross but it worked. Though it was interesting trying to catch it. LOL And then I used a plastic spoon.

I had to poop in the hat and collect it too. The cut did look like the urine cup.

I got a urine cup and asked for a hat, and told to freeze the specimen. You can probably go back to the lab and ask for a hat if you need it.

I'm supposed to go get my kit to do this for the first time. All I can think right now is, oh yuck!
Edit: now I know what to ask for.
