My GI is a bit if an airhead, we decided to start humira, and I asked him for some rowasa in the mean time because my lower end is hurting and I have urgency. His response, you want the oral or enema form? I sat there dumbfounded because we had just talked about how I have tried all oral mesalamines with no success, plus there isn't an oral rowasa....also, he was really sketchy about starting humira. He was telling me all the side effects and he goes, " and one more thing, ummm nevermind" I was like, umm ok.....weird

While that is kind of funny, personally I would find a new GI! LOL

Maybe this is the best kind of GI. One that doesn't know anything and just does what you want. Perfect for patients that are knowledgeable about their disease.

Hmmm, I would find a new GI, my GI mentioned possible side effects to biologics as well, but made me feel comfortable with choosing either biologic (remi or Humira) that I wanted...he said the more serious side effects that can happen with biologics were very rare and that since they monitor via blood work quite often they'd be able to know if either wasn't worth the risk and he'd take me off of it and he said the possible minor side effects outweigh the help the drug will hopefully give me (not to mention I have an RV fistula that needs to be repaired and biologics are suppose to work for fistulas more often than not).

I think he has been practicing for 3 years....he is a mess...I forgot to add he once called in cortenema in oral form and the pharmacy called me to ask what was going on....also he couldn't calculate my body weight to see how much to increase my imuran
