I think everyone with a chronic disease should read this book. I can only say on a non Lyme board that I don't think everything is Lyme, even when you have Lyme (lol).. But this is a fantastic book to get a glimpse into how to help your own doctor be a Medical detective.. Or even yourself. It is the most comprehensive health related book I've ever read targeted to the lay person and the time spent reading it WILL be an investment in your health. If you substitute the word pathogenic process for Lyme or Bartonella, or whatever...( meaning it could be a diverse number of bacteria causing issues beyond the ones Horowitz speaks about) you can get a good understanding of virtually any disease process and how it can effect multiple body systems.

I'd love to know if anyone reads it and puts the information to use in their life!

Thanks, Ima.. you know I appreciate your voice here. You are so much better at discussing diet then I am.. much more moderate. Ive learned alot about how to phrase things to people that email me from watching how you share your diet story. Im simply too blunt :) Its not because I mean to be. Im just usually trying to steal a minute here and there and hop online.. I post here alot mobile.

The cool thing about this book is that I think there is a lot to get out of it even if you dont have lyme. He talks about so many tests, different manifestations of illness like hormones or autonomic nervous system dysfunction, etc. Make sure to let me know what you think.

PK has opened my eyes to so many other avenues of treating UC. She has been a beam of hope in this dark tunnel.

Interesting book, i like the title; that was the question i kept asking myself since being diagnosed, Lol.

I agree much of PK's information sounds like blah-blah-whatdoesthatmean? That's always my reaction to something new and hard to comprehend (anything mechanical, Photoshop, etc).

But just nibbling around the edges and trying a little bit here and there has been beneficial for
me. Diet has been my salvation but PK's info about non-RX antibacterials and antifungals has been so great.

For those of us UC'ers that Rx meds don't help we need other sources of information from people not trying to sell us anything. I am not ignoring others here that have also posted great suggestions, just a TY to PK.
