Noticed you haven't been around much lately....I hope everything is ok, I know the loss of your beloved cat recently is probably still affecting you (((HUGS))) just wanted to let you know thoughts are with you and I hope you're doing alright.

Hi pb and eg....I'm back. Needed the long break, actually.

It's been a difficult 4 weeks with so many emotional issues and changes (our cat and other crap)....I'm numb already. it's been good that I haven't had many client appointments...so the time to heal (just coast) has been welcomed.

Thank you for your concern, it means a lot.

Time to catch up on the forum and get back into the swing of things. I see there's lots going on!
As well....my newly retired husband and I are starting a new phase, so changes of focus and getting long put-off projects are definitely in order.

I'm not flaring, interestingly....I suspect that the increased snacking of hummus (hard to find a good one) and chocolate has helped. ;-)
I did increase the rectals sporadically as well.

I didn't know about your cat. I must live under a rock. I am so very sorry. I know how hard it is too lose a beloved pet and even if you know their time could be coming soon...never makes it easier.

I've also been missing you, Quincy. Sorry to hear about your cat, but congratulations to your hubby on his retirement & hope the transition goes smoothly. BTW, I just heard a young opera singer from Winnipeg-- Andriana Chuchman. / Old Hat (33 yrs with left-sided UC; presently in remission taking brandname Colazal)

Ooooh, newly retired. What a fun stage of life to be venturing in to.

I absolutely love taking care of projects around the house. Can't wait till I get some warmer weather to start doing the same. :)

Incredibly jealous of your hummus and chocolate diet as of late, though, both sound amazing.

Keep taking good care of yourself and glad to see you back!

Glad you are back. I was wondering where you were when I posted my new tattoo pics and you did not chime in. Sorry to hear about your cat. Animals are so intelligent and loving. I know my dog is suffering because of my divorce. She keeps watching the door when I come home waiting for my wife to follow me in but it never happens. She has been acting strangely and is depressed I think.

maybe your pooch needs a mate scum - worth a shot, especially since animals seem to do much better with relationships than humans -

I must be under the same rock as Sheri.....sorry about your beloved kitty. Animals become family and it hurts no less when losing an animal as it would a human. Good to see you back here.....see? When a special member disappears, people care enough to ask :)

Sorry about your cat, glad you're not flaring. AS far as hummus etc, have you tried drinking small amounts of kefir? It's loaded with probiotics which help keep everything in balance.

Hi everyone.....it's good to start back into the swing of things. Thank you for the condolences, good thoughts/wishes for my husband, and support...we're healing. I know most of you are pet owners and understand. Oh, and I'll never be leaving for good...way too many cool people here :-)

I've talked about my cat off and on for the past 5 years with her many afflictions (interstitial cystitis, pooping, meds, leg issues/pain etc). She lived to be 20...so we did something right, lol. She did tricks (sit, kiss, play dead, show me what you want, high 5 (each paw), shake a paw (and other one).. so many other things to list in too short a time. Sherry, you're right....the loss is of a family member....everything was about her :-)

scum1...I can relate to the mental state of your pet...when things get upside down and the house dynamics change, they'll react with insecurity and depression. It's good you notice. Hope you'll be able to get your dog into a somewhat different schedule or activities where she won't miss your wife too badly. Of course, lots has to do with your state of mind.....maybe watch Cesar? lots of good info learned regarding my cat as well.

I haven't had time to go through all the posts. Your tattoo is done really well! very bright! I can't wait to see the finished product. Squids aren't my thing..lol...but the total tattoo will be awesome.

OH...I've not heard of Andriana Chuchman. I'm not into opera, but I'll do a search on her to listen.

embers...yeah, it'll be a long list of projects! The chocolate and hummus seem to hit the spot. Not all hummus is created equal, however...I don't like the flavoured kind. I'm leaning towards Sabra, Garden Fresh Mediterranean (the BEST...but we can't get anymore because SuperStore stopped carrying it) and Summer Fresh. If they came in the gallon size, I'd be happy, lol.

beatUC....I don't drink kefir (does it come in coffee flavour??), but I do take probiotics which seem to have agreed with me for years.

Sorry to hear about the loss of your kitty. I too have a 19 year old kitty and a 15 year old. My 19 year old is eating less and less. Hard to watch. My other one is in kidney decline. I love them very much! I will never let them suffer. So I know how you feel.

Dear Quincy im so sorry for the loss of your beloved cat! I hope you and your husband are healing and finding solace in each other.

I've just read the sad news about your cat, I'm so sorry Quincy, the good thing is, however, that she certainly had a wonderful life with wonderful owners.

faithmac.....it's a heartbreak to know that our pets will probably not outlive us and probably have severe health issues the longer they live. Decisions are hard. There are things we can do for comfort care until we can't. Quality of life certainly trumps just existing and suffering. Hugs to you and your kitties. There are many good sites on cat ailments, aging, etc. They helped us make some decisions regarding Kiera's care in the past 5 years.

Conquer...thank you. Kiera sounded like a baby crying (weird vocals), and today on House Hungers, there was a couple whose baby sounded EXACTLY like her while we were getting brunch ready. The timing was exact on her demanding us to get the process going. It automatically brought tears to me. Timing more than anything...but it was a nice reminder as well. Oh, I'll be here for a while..lol.
