Much better - what I've been eating

I've improved a lot so here are some of the different things I've been eating lately:

Quinoa: I first stir fry it in olive oil, chopped onions, lots of garlic then add chicken broth, diced tomatoes, chili powder, salt, pepper, and simmer till done.

Green beans: I buy the frozen then steam then and add hot chili peppers, garlic

Orange juice: fresh squeezed from oranges

Fruit: fresh sliced strawberries with fresh sliced bananas & some lemon juice/sugar

Chicken: grilled after marinating in lemon juice, paprika, cayenne pepper, lots of chopped garlic, olive oil...etc.

Some wine: Red or white after work (this is not new)

Notice all the use of lemon, garlic, and hot stuff...hrmmmm.

Just thought I'd share.

Do you eat any red meat or dairy.
If you did eat red meat or dairy,when did you stop.
Just curious, I am into my 3rd week of no red meat or dairy and see some sort of improvement.

Looks like we got our UC in the same year,1980.

Dairy: In my coffee in the morning I add 1/2 and 1/2 and even some heavy cream. Sometimes after dinner I go out and get an ice cream cone (butter pecan).

Red meat: I've noticed it makes me worse! So, not lately!

JP and OM, red meat kills my gut most of the time, too. Of course, I had issues with it before UC but it is worse now.
Sounds like you have a good system going and am glad you are feeling better.

Yowser. I'd be afraid to eat a diet like that. Several of those things I know make me worse.

But the important thing is that it's working for you.

Red meat doesn't bother my gut at all but I don't eat too much of it because it's inflammatory.
I keep garlic low too even though it's a good anti-inflammatory. Too bad because I love it (also love all fruits but the gut rules).

We all know that there are many different guts here and what works for some doesn't work for all.
I'll bet we have different gut flora making our food choices.

Well this UC is sure confusing isn't it? I guess it's each man (or woman) for himself. :)

That all looks delicious! I love lemon marinated chicken, eating some for dinner tonigh. Also a big fan of green beans. I try to eat at least 3 cups of green'veggies per day (often more). My gut is always happy when I load it with spinach too :)
