Some of you know me well, others not so much...
I just watched another documentary called "seeds of death" and it pretty much reinforced what i already knew about the poisons we are being fed. Its on utube for those of you who wish to be informed.
For me going organic was a start to my life changing process toward ridding myself of this dreaded disease. 1 year and 3 months later I am still in perfect health and continue on with my chemical free lifestyle.
I hope i have inspired some of you to gain some much needed relief and inspiration.
Keeping my visits sparse so as not to offend anyone.
I applaud going organic. I am an avid gardener and would never add chemicals to any part of the growing process. I use organic and heirloom seeds, and compost everything I can. I do these things because they're good for me, and they're good for the environment. And it just kind of comes naturally to me.
However, I would caution against posting conclusions about
conventional growing methods or GMO's, and their effect on the disease we're dealing with. I guess there are two reasons I say this:
1) some seriously desperate people come to this forum seeking immediate help from their symptoms, and they're willing to try anything. Suggesting that eating only organic foods is the path to " . . . much needed relief . . ." does them a disservice. Posting your experience is one thing, but proselytizing is another.
2) there is no scientific evidence to support the idea that GMO and/or conventional farming have anything to do with UC. Sure, viscerally it just sounds right that chemicals must have brought this disease about
, but that relationship has not been shown.
And to be clear, as long as you're taking Lialda you're not living a chemical-free life. And you may never be able to. But thank goodness for those chemicals.
