How severe was the gas when you started and how long does it last

I didn't have gas at all when I started. Started taking psyllium just a couple of days ago and it's been working wonders controlling my BM's. Make sure to drink a lot of water throughout the day.
How much did you take? Maybe lower the amount and start from there?

I am using it in really small amounts and getting no gas. I get confused as to whether it is the seed or the husk that is meant to be better for us.

It's the seed powder but I a small amount of the mixture off the spoon and boom. Worst ever gas! I haven't tried psyillium husk yet because I've been nervous of the gas pain

SoyStud at least you made your link clickable!
Goodluck Petah! Also maybe try following it up with some peppermint tea or ginger tea. Those always help me find relief when I'm gassy. Just a thought.

Thanks bezzy. I've mentioned before that the seed powder I purchased has little brown splinter type pieces which don't dissolve and feel like they'd be abrasive. I purchased it online, can't remember the place but only one or two to choose from. So I'm reluctance after the gas episode to try again

So this is the Psyllium seed powder that I purchased online.. It's all powder but it definitely doesn't taste great (

)
This is the Psyllium husk I purchased (mainly for bulking stool)

If you have a coffee grinder then maybe run your psyllium seed through that a couple times?
Good luck.

Psyllium husk has never given me gas, however, the psyllium seed powder gave me divorce gas the first time I tried it. Horrible - it would even wake me up at night.
But I did try it again after some time and did not have any gas issue.

Isn't that weird.. I mixed a teaspoon in water and took a sip off the spoon.. It horrible so I'd hate to know how it would feel if I'd of drank the whole glass

That must've been some awful gas to make your wife divorce you Gonk...

MaxMilian,
My wife thankfully did not divorce me over it - but only because I agreed to stop taking the offending seed powder! The "dark gas" is not to be trifled with.
