Has anyone had any strange side effects from using canasa for over 10 years? I am dealing with some nerve issues, numbness, burning sensations. Doctors have ruled out so many major issues. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

Sounds like neuropathy which can be caused by diabetes, steroid use, B12 deficiency, fibromyalgia, among many other causes. I have never heard of Canasa causing a side effect that wasn't GI.

What other meds are you on? Didn't think Canasa could do that. It would be kind of unusual. Have you been on any antibiotics?

I doubt it's the 5ASA...you should, however, get appropriate and intensive testing done.
Where exactly are your issues...arms? legs? hands? feet? face? back? etc...

Thanks everyone. I didn't think it was canasa. Just wanted to cover everything that goes into my body.
Went to neurologist. He thought it would go away. did some tests that were fine. Quincy, strange feelings in arms and legs. They are leaning to compressed nerve. Who knows....I am all for it just going away.

I've had hair loss which could be from the long term 5ASA use (I've used it almost 18 years now). As far as I know the only other long term side effect can be liver issues, but as long as you get tested for that every so often it should be fine.
