Lots changes this year so far. Left clinic I was working in for new job. They sent me to train in chicago for a month, moved my family to Lexington and they closed all their offices here the following week, lol. Left me newly moved without a job and 5-6 other docs out of work too all looking for same employment opportuities. The morning I found out they were closing offices I blitzed resumes out, had interview 2 days later, hired week and half later. Presently work 3 days week 1-7 at about same pay level. Stress levels starting to come back down. No insurance though now so that's a huge bummer. Have Humira but I have been putting off starting it till I figure out wth to do with insurance. Think I have saved up 2 months worth of it. Appointment with new GI coming up on 25th. Will see how that goes. May try and get some help from Abvie on the Humira.

Been using sulfasalazine and the cortenemas daily to get me through. Still trying to smoke, but it's not working very well, lol.

OUCH! That was terrible luck.

I just had a vacation cancelled after most of the fun because the other guy was overwhelmed so I had to come back. You see I have not had any time off in a year including the holiday season because the old startup purged high salaried people when they failed to sell our services at year end.

I landed a job 10 minutes from home and waived goodbye to the long commute to the city.

Then I had trouble sleeping. We are so busy handling 150 Financial databases for various companies the work never ever stops flowing in, I cannot even attend meetings and the pager is just flip-flopped between me and the co-worker I hired in after starting. They dumped the former crew but this was like walking into a buzz saw.

Finally today I was told we are getting more help, up to 4 more guys.

I hope it works, I drop my daughter off at a private school on the way in where she is doing so much better and I pick her up again at 3:00 and finish my day from home. Not the sweet hours your pulling but 1) not wasting time in traffic 2) Home early enough for quick ride, or tennis before finishing my day after sun goes down.

Hope things work out for you in the new gig it sounds great.

Wow, that's a lot of change and setback you've been through.

I hope the meds you're on at this point keep things at bay till your insurance works out.

I hope things start to improve for you.

I had a deal a while back where I paid like $5 per humira pen, but this was with really good insurance. It's a little more difficult to get those prices without insurance but I'm sure you'll find something.

Gads! Your former employer sounds sadistic-- moving your family & then eliminating your position. And your oldest child would have to change schools, too-- no? That's totally outrageous!!!!! Best wishes for you to get resettled with good insurance soon ... I hope you won't have to start smoking to calm the colon! / Old Hat (33 yrs with left-sided UC; presently in remission taking brandname Colazal)

I am happy you're doing well at the new gig. I really hope you get your insurance situation figured out. Did you try healthcare.gov?

good thing for that stash of Humira! What did you do, stop using it & just keep ordering them? I'd be a nervous wreck, what with all the changes you've had. Keep on keepin' on!!!!! Nice to hear from you too!
