Hi all,

Should I be concerned about seeing small clots. Is this normal for proctitis or something else.

Have to stop my meds before I have a colonoscopy in two weeks and saw some small clots in my bms this morning.

Considering you have inflammation and diverticulosis, I'd say to expect it.

How often are you going? and is your stool formed?

Hi Quincy, I hope I find you well.

I am going about 3-4 times in the morning, all within about an hour and a half. would say little or no urgency and them maybe once in the evening but not the last two days. Stopped pred sup four days ago. Was not seeing any benefit and I have been told to stop my rectal meds. However until I know the date of my colonoscopy I have used an asacol sup every other night (two up until now). I would say that my stools are formed but very soft. The first is the best and then they get abit mushier.
I phoned up the hospital last week to be told that my c scope would be in six weeks or more. NIGHTMARE! so I phoned my consultant and said there was no way I could wait that long so now it should be within two weeks.

SIX WEEKS????? wth? Good thing it's moved to two weeks.

Hope it gets done asap and the doc finds out obviously what's going on.

I get small clots too sometimes. I hope your colonoscopy goes well and that you feel better soon.

Thanks everybody.

My symptoms today are increasing having cut down drastically on my meds. Bloody, mucousy, mushy bm's with a bit of wind. Been on the loo much more today. I wish there was something I could do to stop me going. Thought about immodium but is this the answer. I am back at work in a weeks time so need to get things settled.

I randomly see little wine-colored clots as well. They come and go; won't see them for a long time and then they come back again for a short while.

Interesting, especially since you're still on the oral meds.

Have you started to cut them back as well?

Maybe call the doc and see if you can get in this week for a scope....tell them you'd not be able to take the next week off considering you're already starting to regress.

I don't think oral meds get to the rectum do they. I am still taking 3600mg of mezavant. Questioning that now as I see whole ones in my bms. Maybe they are not working.
Not much chance of getting a scope this week I think. Its so much different here in the uk. We don't seem to have all the options you do in the states.

If things are getting worse this fast maybe I should go back on my rectals until I know the date of my scope.
Thing is I don't know whats working and not working now. My head so fuddled.
