OT - What's wrong with Miley Cyrus?

Recently she suffered from what was described as an "allergic" reaction to antibiotics and had to cancel several stops of her American Tour. She supposedly got better and now all of sudden she has had what they are calling a "relapse" and has cancelled some future European concerts and they say she should be recovered in up to 27 days. Up to 27 days??????????? Where'd they get that number? I've never really heard of relapse of an "allergic" reaction to antibiotics. My mind is running wild wondering if it is possible we might have new member to our club.

She's another victim of misinformation I'm afraid. Yes, it happens to celebrities too, but at least it will get more attention. I hope she does something about it and hits big pharma hard.

The antibiotic was cephalexin btw and it is notorious for causing c. diff and various complications to the body. It's not just her. I know many people who've had issues with it.

she could very well be allergic to antibiotics and have hives and need to be on a steroid.
Maybe she ingested something with sulpha....?

or is having cosmetic surgery and the illness is a LIE!

but c.diff or something like that seems a probability.

At one point Jennifer Lawrence had bowel issues and had to go to the hospital (I think, don't want to start rumors). Thought she might have been joining our horrible little club.

Ooooh I bet you are right and is c diff! I have been trying to figure out how one has an allergic reaction for that long (yes I love celebrity gossip lol).

I wouldn't say they are treating the allergic reaction anymore. They will call it that and give it a label, but I feel it's more of a gross flora imbalance mediated by antibiotics. As with individuals who develop autoimmunity, c. diff after antibiotic use, they are most likely treating the complications she developed from the antibiotic.

I'm not a right wing religious nut but it can't help but cross your mind that someone up there is trying to teach her a lesson and bring her down a notch. She'll probably recover and go right back to being her own self. I certainly don't wish this disease on anyone, including her.

She is a talentless nobody if it were not for her father. My daughter used to watch her show and she sounded like a man in a girls body, horrid voice.

Lately she got the idea that vulgarity is sexy. Major turnoff I could not care less what happens to her. Absolutely gross. Talk about bogarting your 10 minutes of fame - she needs to disappear permanently.

Dang. Come on folks.

I don't like pop culture here in America. I'm more biased towards the international stuff like j-pop or korean rap because they at least have some semblance of talent.

Although I haven't heard a single Miley Cyrus song (or I might have somewhere without knowing it), she is still a human being. At best, the experience will humble her and this is assuming she even gets back to normal in the first place. Things like these take weeks, if not years to recover from. A couple studies showed that flora disruptions after antibiotic abuse can take 4 years to normalize.

You can develop colitis from antibiotics that's not c diff. This is the theory the GIs have for what happened to me. I developed ischemic colitis which the believe was from the cipro/flagyl combo I was on....now my immune system doesn't want to turn off. So, it could be she has a limited (one time) colitis, like the drs hoped I had- or, it could be the trigger for the autoimmune disease that was lurking in her genes (like has happened to me). Just my two cents, for what it's worth.

i'm not a fan of her songs, but i've once read an interview with her in which she was talking about her adopted dogs and her passion for animals, that's why to me she seems to be a really nice person so i pity her, moreover that she's also suffering from a heart disease

Me too, I wanted to say - a lot. I have a niece who is 14 and at one time girls in her generation looked up to Miley (growing up with Hannah M. episodes) but not anymore. They are embarrassed to have been fans of MC.

I suspect Miley wanted to shed her good girl image (Hannah M.) and emerge as a completely different character. She's a character all right.

Thank God Liam isn't going to marry her! And I hope to God Jennifer Lawrence never behaves this way (yes I'm a diehard Hunger Games fan).

But if you all want to discuss Miley's health woes, have at it, maybe on some level her gut is telling her - this isn't who you are Miley!

Oh to be famous.....I rather like being a nobody!

Everyone gets sick....punishment from GOD!?..sheesh. Now there's a statement based on common sense.

She's definitely gone down the extreme path, certainly a choice that'll have her continue it or change it....but I suspect she's here to stay.
Miley isn't the worst that's out there....
