Might be relevant for us IBDers since it is associated with multiple chronic diseases such as Alzheimer’s, autism, Crohn’s disease, gluten intolerance, and leaky gut.

If you were a kid who was breastfed, you should probably go ahead and thank your mom on Mother’s Day this weekend. Not only is it often considered “nature’s perfect food,” but it has also been linked to higher intelligence later in life and reducing obesity.

All of that makes it even more troubling that a recent study found that a chemical found in the world’s best-selling weed killer is present in the the breastmilk of many American mothers. Glyphosate is the central ingredient in Monsanto’s Roundup, the top trademarked herbicide in the world. Sales of Roundup and other glyphosate-based Monsanto products rose 7 percent percent in 2013. They are routinely used on genetically-modified crops.

Past studies have linked exposure to high levels of glyphosate to cancer and premature death in lab rats. There are currently no regulatory limits for glyphosate in breast milk anywhere in the world, but the levels found in American mothers’ breast milk are about 1,000 times higher than the amount that is allowed in European drinking water.

What's up with all this name changing? If one had a suspicious mind one would think that certain people like to change their screen names in an attempt to make the unsuspicious believe that there are more people who believe in these extremist agendas then there really are. Why can't we just keep the same screen names and be up front and honest with our opinions?

Big mistake for me to have a screen name BabeintheWoods. I was trying to project innocence since during my first flare I had no idea what hit me. I thought it could be safe because of examples such as Babe Ruth, but people were still assuming I was female. Enough is enough.

Uh... Thinking should be mandatory. It's obviously babeinthewoods if we're just going by the signature and registration date. My name isn't that different considering I took out only one word. I'm still a Guardian, though more conspicuous and less stealthy now. :P

IamCurious: I can understand that. I must confess to having wondered that myself early on. Sometimes I think about changing my screen name to something more "clever". I think if I ever decided to do that I would make an OT post alerting everyone to my change.
