Just wanted to post a positive story..today ended up being my best day of 2014---
My wife ran in a 5K this morning and I surprised her by bringing our boys to the race to cheer her on. I initially declined to go with her because mornings are normally terrible for me and it would be tough using the bathroom with a 3 y.o. and a 1 y.o. The morning ended up perfect, no urges to go to the bathroom and she was really touched that we surprised her and cheered for her during the race.
This afternoon we took our boys to a kiddie amusement park and once again no urges to use the bathroom. Plus I conquered my fear of heights for one day by going down the giant slide a half dozen times with my 3 y.o.
I had so much fun today and spent most of the time with a care in the world concerning my UC.
2014 has been very difficult for me and I have been incredibly close to pulling the trigger on surgery a few times this year. Maybe this is only a temporary reprieve but I'll take it. I hope all of us can have a day like I did today.

Good on you, cat.
What do you think did it? When these days happen to me, I reflect back on what I did the prior day, as in foods, sleep, stressors, etc.

Thanks Everybody!
Guardian-Not sure if it would be advisable to repeat the previous day. I woke up not feeling well and ended up running a 102 fever and had really bad teeth chattering chills. Thankfully that passed and I felt better in the afternoon. My wife and I went out with friends in the evening and despite the little voice in my head telling me not to, I had a beer and a couple chicken wings. I was certain that it would come back to bite me in the b*tt in the middle of the night. I also went to bed 3 hours later than I normally do. Weird, I did everyone "wrong" and ended up feeling awesome!

I'm glad to hear as well. I had a great day too! As I am one day closer to remission. I will not let this disease defeat me!
