no more remission from smoking

i've been smoking for 7 months now and i've been in remission until last week. i was a new smoker, smoking only 3 cigs a day. at the start of smoking i was taking asacol hd aswell but i started getting diarhea by the end of the fourth month. i stopped taking the asacol hd (??) and was just smoking 3 a day for 3 months and things cleared up. last week i started flaring up again, and i started my asacol again but no luck Q_Q.

so what do you guys think? should i up the cigs? stop the asacol or take it?

do cigs just stop working like all other uc drugs?? time to quit and take other meds??

7 months of remission on cigs..it was a good run, i just wish it worked forever @_@

For me smoking never prevented any flares. However, when I smoked my flares were controlled easily wit the meds.

Now that I haven't been smoking for over six months, I've been flaring and can't seem to be able to pull out of my flare.

If I were you I would take my meds and not quit smoking while flaring.

You say you take Asacol, the pills ? If so maybe Enema would help you as well.

I haven't went back to smoking as it was such a hard battle to stop. I don't really trust that I would be able to smoke 3 a day. Plus my Dr. Believes I should return to my usual type of flares after 12 or 18 months of not smoking.

Not going to comment on smoking but maybe you need different meds that Asacol. Apparently that hasn't been good enough.
