Will inflammation flare cause pus and blood?

When I'm really flaring I get stinky yellowish pus or mucus and blood, is this normal?

5 Asa make me have urgency and I'm constantly pooping my pants but it helps with stopping the bleeding, but I can't deal with the pooping all the time in my pants. So I'm trying a combo of Lialda and yeast pills to see if it will stop the urgency (might be a yeast issue doc thinks)

Pred works the best for me, can 10mg or 20 mg long term be really bad for you?

Remicade didn't work or imuran , is that new drug that starts with a V out there now at docs office?

Even 10 mgs of pred long term can be very, very bad. Bad enough to make you want your UC back. Vedolizumab has recently been approved for UC but it probably won't be available for another month or two.

pred is no different than anything else in life - good for some, very, very, very bad for others -

The mucus and blood sound common, but the stinky yellow part is new to me. Sounds like the inflammation for u is near the rectum, that causes the urgency. Why not try topical steroid there instead of the Melsalamines. Pred can be very bad long term. Might try Uceris to get your symptoms under control, works for some with less systemic affects.
Vedolizumab/ Entyvio will be available shortly. Insurance is the next hurdle. Could be shortly. Doc said yesterday it is already becoming available, and has passed all hurdles except for insurance. You might have to fail other cheaper alternatives. Luckily we have failed everything,lol.

10 or 20 mg of pred is definitely high enough to be really bad. You should NOT be on that high of a dose long term.

The drug you're thinking of is vedolizumab (Entyvio is the trade name) and yes, it was recently approved.
