Elevated liver counts

I have bloodwork done every 3 months. This time my doc emailed me my results and said I had slightly elevated liver counts and she called in another set of bloodwork for me to go in and get when I have a free min.

Has his happened to anyone else? I'm on imuran and apriso- harve been for 8 years now. I got c diff in jan and am on vanco for that..altho I'm slowly tapering. I'm scared. What does it mean?

Fortunately the liver has the ability to regenerate by itself, so even if your liver counts are elevated now, they may soon get back to normal once you take some medicines (there are many herbal medicines for the liver which are very good)

My liver counts wiggled around a lot for a while. Luckily my doctor was willing to work through it. We adjusted my Imuran dosage several times, then added allopurinol, and it seems to b stable now.

Milk thistle is great for the liver. My liver enzymes were a little high once (nothing to do with UC) and my regular family doctor suggested it and next test my counts were back to normal.

Imuran really sent my liver crazy. I had very high numbers. Once I got off of it my liver fully recovered. But since you been on it for 8 yrs I'd be surprised if it was the cause

I've had it both from 6-mp/Imuran and also from a flare; both times it went away after either the 6-mp dose was adjusted or my flare went into remission but it could have been from the Asacol, doc doesn't know.

Doc says imuran should prevent this. She thinks it's autoimmune hepatitis, which is common for people with autoimmune diseases to get. Prednisone or imuran is usually prescribed to help. I'm already on it tho. I guess having an infectious disease like c diff also increased my chances of getting it
