Pred- anyone having as much fun as me?

I can completely relate. I'm off Pred at the moment so I look like my normal self for the time being (I'm 99% certain I'm going back on Pred again though) but when I was on it a couple of months ago, I had huge moon face and insane bloating. Yes, I looked pregnant too lol. I didn't get acne but I got facial hair and yes it grew like crazy. It's hard to be growing facial hair when you're a female because it's not really accepted in society. I didn't have anxiety but I was super moody. I tell myself the same thing, that it's temporary and you know what, I really think it is. Hope is what keeps me going. I just got the picture of my healthcard renewed 3 months ago and you wouldn't even know it was me. I look so different to what I look like now. You know what was super upsetting, I had to take a couple months off university 'cause I was so sick. They put me on a high dose of Prednisone with a slow taper. When I went back to school, my friends couldn't recognize me. Prednisone really does change the way you look. The thing I was most self-conscious about was the fat pad I got at the back of my neck. I really do feel your pain and you for the record, sharing your story was very useful. It's nice to know someone out there understands :) In my life at least, people have a difficult time understanding why I would be upset about the side effects when I feel better on the Prednisone. Yea, it feels great to not feel sick but that doesn't change the fact that you don't look like the way you once did. And all of the exercise and healthy eating didn't help with the bloating and what not. And the people that didn't know that I was on steroids told me that I had gained a lot of weight -_- Thanks for sharing again. Hope you'll be off it soon :)

Hang in there Chrissy it'll get better, what treatment are you waiting 2 months for? I did a year of continuous prednisone and got most of those things. Although, you didn't mention insomnia, night-sweats, and racing heart, now those are fun ones.

What do you mean uc is uncool? Gluten-free is now cool and trendy. Maybe the same can be done with uc? Especially if all the cool kids have it, like all of us here, then it's bound to catch on as the next big thing, right?

I'm in the same boat it sucks i have a huge face and a massive neck! Round belly and, at the moment i am planning my wedding......... makes ya feel great looking at all those perfect models and, here's me with spots everywhere and looking huge!

The hubby to be tries to make me feel better bless him, so i decided bugger it. I'll be a chubber for the next few weeks and then it will be over :)

There is always light at the end of the tunnel, that's all we need to think and, there is a lot of us out here! Your not alone

Haha i know right!!! I have two years and my consultant has promised i won't look like a beached whale for my wedding ****!

I can relate too. I look nothing like myself now. I used to look 20 years younger than my real age. Now I just look like a freak. Fat face, 4 or 5 months pregnant and hair growing all over my face. My eyes are all swollen too so I look like a pig with beady eyes.

Luckily I have long, dark hair so it covers the sideburns and the camel hump. I plucked the mustache.

And the pred is just barely helping. I'm still in pain, can't walk (I hobble), and my insides feel like someone is trying to tug them out when I try to move from a sitting or laying position. ACK.

Delzicol isn't working. Next step? Humera? or?

I picked up 3 more ounces of Indigo powder. It might be helping a little bit, I'm actually having a good day today.

I have a few months of this for sure. I also have lovely chest hair.

Sea skyline- sorry to hear that :( all those side effects and it isn't helping a lot that is a bummer :( you're not one tho I feel way gross too lol. It's sad that it's such a harsh drug that way. I can't wait to feel like myself again one day

I am having same probs. Reducing from 40mg and am now at 15mg. Was reducing every 7 days by 5mg but now educing every 5 days on the advice of my IBD nurse. Have been having side effect all the time headaches, anxiety attacks, flushes, racing heart. How long do these last after getting off them. I have had 2 courses of steroids since January. I just want to feel some sort of normal again. Oh and I now have a lovely moustache.
