Had Rowasa treatment before & it stopped my blood, but would always come back after was off it few days. Read on here some use Rowasa as needed along with other Meds. Finally after asking the Third time, my Dr. Is allowing me to keep Rowasa on hand to use as needed! I've been using one at first sign of blood, which has been abt every 4 days, little concerned this time was the 3rd day....just wanted to ask if those of you who use ene as needed, use when you see Red or just every so many days?

I use the nightly. Perhaps you should as well.

I think you are waiting too long if you're waiting to see blood first. I don't know if you need it every night permanently. Maybe you should do every night for a while, cut back to every other night for a while and see how it goes and then maybe cut back to every three nights and see how that goes. I'd keep track of it on the calendar so you don't get confused. Are you on other meds? You should be taking oral meds every day and then the Rowasa as needed. Just taking one or the other rarely works well enough. What other meds have you been on in the past?

Thanks for ur response, Gary, I updated my profile & Meds, but didn't show up on that post, not sure why. I'm taking Generic Colazal 3x3. I had used the Rowasa every nite 4 wks, then first sign of blood since then. my Dr. said I can't use it every day, but he does have some who do 3 a wk....so that's what I was wondering, if I shouldn't wait til I see red. My last one was Tues, so maybe I'll do every other nite for while, see how that goes.
