Question

Oh my gosh, now that I think about it, mine are yellow quite often :o I just thought it was the mezavant turning it that colour, but I do get normal coloured too so, I'm not to sure anymore...I did just have my blood done, suppose they would have told me if something was up. I'm going to stick around this post, sorry didn't actual answer you question x) but I do offer empathy :)

Yellow stool can also mean its just moving through too fast, not getting time for the bacteria to turn it brown. Could also be not enough/ wrong type of bacteria. My GI was not concerned about my yellow poop at all- and it was practically neon yellow every BM.

I have heard that yellow sometimes means things are moving fast and there is a lot of bile in the stool that hasn't broke down because it was moving too fast, which also could indicate an issue with bile production/liver. I heard this second hand and not from a real doctor though so I have no idea if there is any truth to that.

What you initially posted about are allergic reactions that a small percentage of people have with meslamines. It is not unique for just that medication, rather a random assortment of people in the same proportion have reactions to other meds as well (based on genetics or whatever). The majority of patients have no issues, only 2-3% do.

Interesting quote: I typically tell my patients when they ask me, “How do I know if I have pancreatitis?” And I tell them that they’ll know and they’ll probably be cursing me all the way to the hospital when they have it, because it’s really not a pleasant experience. It’s a severe abdominal pain that typically radiates right through the back. The nice thing about any allergic reactions, if there is a nice thing about having a side effect, is that it goes away once you stop the medication.
