so after posting yesterday, I had an appointment with my doctor and there has been no improvement with any medications he has tried me on.. so I'm booked in the spend a week in the hospital so that he can try to calm it down giving me high dosages of medications through an IV drip and possibly have another colonoscopy...
have any of you had this problem of not responding to medications?

Some don't respond to any uc drugs, and that ultimately means surgery. Not familiar with what you have tried already. Usually, start with meslamine, anti inflammatory meds, e.g., asacol hd, lialda, etc. Then try immunosuppressive meds e.g., 6mp, imuran, aza. Then last try is biologics, e.g., humira, remi, simponi.

Yup if went through exactly that a few months sho...got sent to the hospital for a week to get IV meds. It helped just a little, but a few weeks later I got much better because I stayed on 40mg steroids.

Unfortunately....as I tapered I got worse again. Now I'm waiting for vedo as sort of a last option, if it doesn't work they're taking my colon out.
