I'd be interested to hear dietary advice as this is one area where everyone is so different I don't really see how they can give advice to any one person in particular. It is more of a trial and error thing.
She was really easy to talk to and gave me a packet of things that I might want to avoid, or try in place of other things. We did talk about
how many things will be trial and error, and sometimes I might have to weigh the choices in my mind to decide "Yes, I DO want that, but I know I might not feel well tomorrow. WORTH IT". She advised a low Insoluble fiber, low fat diet. Fruits and veggies should be peeled, and fruits with seeds (berries) should be avoided. No raw veggies (no salads!), no beans/legumes, avoid seeds/nuts. Grains should not be whole, the more highly processed and finely milled the better. White bread, white rice, white pasta, rice cereals, only instant or quick cooking oats. Lean protein. No friend foods. Low fat cheee and dairy, but cow milk specifically might be avoided all together because of the Lactose. Lots of water, avoid artificial sweetners, caggine, and carbonation.
lol it looks like a terribly restrictive list, but the packet has long columns of Good and Bad suggestions, so it was actually not that intimidating. She spent about
an hour with us, talked about
specific products (almond milk, powdered peanut butter (YUM, seriously, I love it). And I am keeping a journal of what I am eating, the after effects, and I will see her again in a month.
I haven't talked to anyone yet about
probiotics or vitamins. I am literally on 1 20mg prednisone a day, and 1 One a Day multivitamin my primary care Dr said to take for the anemia.
