I have seen posts from other members, but can't remember who, regarding eating fermented foods. I have purchased some Kim Chi fermented cabbage, but was wondering what other foods people are eating.

I don't know about
Kimchi (store bought) but you should try making Sauerkraut at home, very easy to make and use it instead.
On Facebook, there is a group called as Fermented kitchen, extremely versatile folks if you have time at hand.

For most people it is not a case of what you are eating but what you aren't eating. On top of that everyone is different so those that eat certain foods due to their UC those foods will often be different and for those that don't eat certain foods due to their UC those foods will often be different.

Ive been on a kevita probiotic drink kick for a month now. Im addicted!! I also always have kefir going and eat saurkraut and pickles, too. I tried kvass a few months back and almost gagged. Totally nasty and i dont recommend it.

Banana, what is kevita probiotic? i don't know what u mean by kvas, i guess it can be "kwas chlebowy" (a sort of fermented dark bread) popular in east european countries. The one from Lithuania is quite good because it tastes like dark beer.

I make a lot of fermented foods and I also ferment tea. I haven't noticed it helping with uc symptoms at all. I wish it did and hopefully it does help you.i used to really load up on the fermented foods but it's expensive to buy... And you really don't know if a lot of the products available OTC were shipped cold...

ewa, kevita is a brand of probiotic drink. it doesn't taste like regular kombucha to me- it's better.
as for kvass, it's made from fermenting veggie juices. it is absolutely horrific. i've tried two bottles of it- beet kvass and then green kvass which had kale, spinach, lemon, spirulina, and some other god awful ingredients.

I have the book "wild fermentation" which explains the process well and has some great recipes. I am also a huge fan of fermented carrots and ginger (found it on a blog somewhere, really yummy!)
