surgey July 18th, so much for Simponi...

Here's a good one, I'm on a 6-9 month waiting list for surgery unless there's a cancelation so for the last 3 months I've been trying to get approved for Simponi as a last try instead of surgery because remicade and Humira/immuran have been useless. I've been in a constant flare for over 2 years now no remission.

Just 2 days ago (Monday) I get a call from the Hospital saying I'm scheduled for Surgery July 18th. I hang up the phone and go out and get the mail. In it is a letter from my health insurance company saying I've been approved for Simponi !! Lol!

Not even going to bother changing my meds now, gonna have the surgery and hope for the best.

I never actually heard of it to tell you the truth. But it's too late now, I can't give up my surgery date. My other problem is that for the last year and a half I have had a fissure form and never go away which gives me double the grief. They will have to go in and try to irradicate that first. If they can then they should be able to do a j-pouch. If they can't then it's likely they are going to have to take it all out and I will be on a bag for life which I still feel beats what I've gone through the last 2-3 years
