from the last day of school in june till the end of summer, as kids we never wore shoes and never slept in our beds - it was nirvana every day and night = bare feet and sleeping bags
ahhh, those were the days !

I didn't do the sleeping bag much but I know I was outside ALL THE TIME. Usually in someone's pool. Shoes? Never heard of them. I still don't wear them much since the dog seems to chew only mine.

Those were the days. It is fun watching my boys experience this now.

Ha! My son tried the whole not sleeping in his bed the other night....it didn't work so well. We put a couple of bed pillows on the floor beside his bed (the other side is against a wall), because despite being 5, he still falls out of bed on occasion.
Anyway, he told us he wanted to sleep on the floor, on top of the pillows the other night. Ok, fine. Except that when I went to check on him before bed, I couldn't get the door
open. He'd rolled about
3' across the floor and was lying against the door! My husband managed to inch the door
open until he could get his arm in far enough to push him away. Then we put him back in bed.
The best part is, he didn't wake up! He is SUCH a sound sleeper!

Yes those good old days...when the sun always seemed to shine, days seemed long and weeks passed slowly!

My boys camped out on the living room rug last night but my 4 year old woke up in the middle of the night and asked me to take him to bed... However they are currently running around barefoot in wet grass/mud.
